Nyinggulu!

Nyinggulu! is an intermediate to advanced level guitar quartet inspired by the beautiful, delicate and remote Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. My aim with this composition was to create an uplifting, sparkling, musical journey for both listeners and guitarists. The original ensemble version of this piece was written for the Duncan Gardiner Memorial Guitar Composition Competition in early 2024 and was premiered by the WA Guitar Society Orchestra later that year at their annual concert. Following that, it was performed in a concert in Glebe, Sydney, in May 2025 in one of Sydney Guitar School's 10th anniversary celebration concerts in quartet form, by Giuseppe Zangari, Richard Charlton, Werner Ruecker and Alison Skarratt.
