Written as the first part of a suite called 'The Great Dividing Range', this intermediate solo in 6/8 has a Celtic feel and sounds great in its open position of E minor or, as suggested, with a capo on the 3rd fret, which takes it up to G minor. It was inspired by a drive over the Clyde Pass on the south coast of New South Wales following the bushfires of 2020 and features a strong rhythmic pulse, with a more fluid middle section, contrasting dynamics and an engaging melodic line.
